But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. Psalm 19:12-13
In verses 12 and 13, David gives us some specific prayers to pray. First, pray that you would be cleansed from "secret faults". Theses are the "hidden" sins you may not even be aware of, things you may be doing or thinking that you do not realize are wrong. Second, pray that you would be kept from "presumptuous sins". These are things you know are sins yet you do them anyway. David asks the LORD to keep him from letting sin have dominion or rule over him. That's a wise prayer for us all to pray so that we are not slaves to sin, especially since God, not sin, is our Master!
