Trust in the Lord with all your heart, AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING... Proverbs 3:5
LEAN NOT: He is saying do not [support yourself] on your own understanding. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Our understanding is flawed because at best, it is based on our perspective and our feelings. Look at Romans 11:33 And that is why He tells us to TRUST Him with ALL our heart. SIMPLY GRATEFUL! #Understanding

Psalm 119:97-105
Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word. I have not departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me. How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Reading and mediating on the Word of God unravels the mysteries! Oh how wonderful to gain understanding from the Lord, "His Word". The journey awaits us everyday. Do we long for the time we spend in His Word? Do we enjoy His presence through the reading of His Word? If you want more of Jesus READ His Word, Meditate on it all day! Then YOU will gain understanding and treasure the time inn His presence. The Lord longs for you to come to Him. His Word lights the path and directs our feet. #UnravealingTheMysteries 1 Peter 4:7-11
Serving for God’s Glory But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. When discerning how we might best serve the Lord, it is wise to consider our talents and characteristics and to sometimes say "no" it's not me. God may call us out odf our comfort zone, but He does so to develop our unique gifts and personalties to serve His good purposes. We honor His creative nature when we permit Him to use us as we are. #It'sNotMe Job 38:1-11
The Lord Reveals His Omnipotence to Job Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ Are we proud like Job when he asked God why? Or are we humbled when we realize God's omnipotence. All that the Lord did in creation and still does today we should be humble and in awe of an almighty God. Is there anything we can do without the Lord? No we are nothing without Him. But with Him we are able to withstand the enemy, hear from Him, and obey His commands. We must stop being proud and recognize the power of God. We must submit to His ways and follow His path of righteousness. Proverbs 9:8-11
8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. 10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Fear of the Lord is just the beginning of wisdom. Then the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. This will multiply your days and years of your life. We need to come to the Lord daily, in His Word, through prayer, and fellowship with other believers in Christ. The Lord is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End! #Wisdom #knowledge #Understanding #LongLife Proverbs 4:4-7
4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live. 5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. The Lord gives us more instruction which is good for our understanding. When we let our heart retain His words, we get understanding which gives wisdom. We must hear and recieve it will add years to our life and in walking it will keep us from stumbling. The reading of the Bible daily should be our desire to follow Christ's footsteps. #GetUnderstanding Mark 8:14-21
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat. 15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.” 17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.” 21 So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?” So many times God gives us reminders of His love, His provision, His mercy, His grace and yet we still sometimes do not understand, WHY? Do we doubt His love for us? Do we feel unworthy of His mercy? Do we not love others as we should? It tells us IF "God is for us WHO can be against us." WE MUST BELIEVE IN HIM! We ask for wisdom and He freely gives to us. The Lord Almighty reigns! He is for us! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! RECEIVE! REJOICE! UNDERSTAND! Proverbs 4:1-13
1Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding; 2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law. 3 When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, 4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live. 8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. 9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.” 10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many. 11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. 13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life. Solomon tells us to get wisdom and get understanding. God tells us that wisdom comes from holding on to His Word in our lives. We are told there is a big reward IF we get wisdom AND understanding. The rewards are honor, a long life, and insight to stay on course in life. If you feel out of sorts, not sure of the truth of a situation or the words being taught, verify the word s and actions with the ultimate source, Jesus Christ, He will give you wisdom and understanding if you seek first His kingdom and not that of the world. |
