1 Peter 4:7-11
Serving for God’s Glory But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. When discerning how we might best serve the Lord, it is wise to consider our talents and characteristics and to sometimes say "no" it's not me. God may call us out odf our comfort zone, but He does so to develop our unique gifts and personalties to serve His good purposes. We honor His creative nature when we permit Him to use us as we are. #It'sNotMe

Romans 12:1-8
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Only by God's mercy can be present ourselves as living sacrifices. We must choose to let Him perfect that which He gives to each by His grace. We each have a measure of faith. But we are many members each unique and special to Him. Each with gifts that will honor Him and be used by Him to bring harmony in the body. Choose to present yourself to God, Choose to let Him use the gift in you. Choose to be a part of the body pleasing to the Lord. Luke 8:40-48
So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” We sometimes say I need my "personal space", because we want privacy BUT.. the only way we can help a world of hurting people to to let them get close enough to be touched by encouragement, comfort, and grace of Christ in us. A Christian life is the window through which others can see Jesus. We all need a touch from the Lord. Are you willing to be His vessel today? John 15:1-8
The True Vine “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. When we acknowledge the Lord as the one who helps us accomplish everything, He gets the glory and honor. Apart from the Lord we can do nothing. We must stay connected to the vine! Then we can bear much fruit in our lives. People will know Christ by the fruit we bear. John 15:15-17
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another. We can be Christ's friend if we know Him and know His Father. Once we know, believe, repent of our sins, we want to serve Him. But when serving Him He calls us Friend. What a privilege and honor be called friend of Jesus. If you are His you are His friend! Trust Christ today. John 12:24-26
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. We are to serve one another in love. Service of any kind bring joy to our Father and He will honor us. Serve, serve, serve! Joshua 24:15-24
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods; for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed. And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.” But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.” And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord!” So Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.” And they said, “We are witnesses!” “Now therefore,” he said, “put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.” And the people said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!” We have a definite choice. Whom will you serve? If you say you will serve the Lord I ask does your actions show it? Can others witness to it? Make a definite choice today THEN make definite actions to show it! Luke 9:1-6
Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Are you being sent by God? He gave you power and authority to preach the gospel, heal the sick, bind up the broken hearted! Hallelujah!! Go forth and if you are not received shake off the dust. Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. He gives us (believers, His disciples) the great commission! GO, MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS, TEACH THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS THAT HE COMMANDED US. I pray today believers will follow Jesus Word and Go (even if it is in your own neighborhood) Make disciples, Baptizing them, Teaching them to observe His commands And (His promise) He will be with you always. Be blessed this Resurrection Day and Follow Jesus! Philippians 4:1-5
Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved. Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. We (the beloved of the Lord) need to be of the same mind (like minded, in unity) one with another. We must put on love to be like minded. Look at yesterdays word. Jesus is love. When we put on Jesus we are like Him and we have love one for another. Try it on for size i believe it fits all who will receive. |
