Job 38:1-11
The Lord Reveals His Omnipotence to Job Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ Are we proud like Job when he asked God why? Or are we humbled when we realize God's omnipotence. All that the Lord did in creation and still does today we should be humble and in awe of an almighty God. Is there anything we can do without the Lord? No we are nothing without Him. But with Him we are able to withstand the enemy, hear from Him, and obey His commands. We must stop being proud and recognize the power of God. We must submit to His ways and follow His path of righteousness.

Joel 2:1-5
The Day of the Lord 1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, For it is at hand: 2 A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even for many successive generations. 3 A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them. 4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like swift steeds, so they run. 5 With a noise like chariots Over mountaintops they leap, Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble, Like a strong people set in battle array. What will happen when the trumpet sounds? Are you ready? Is everyone you care about ready? The trumpet will sound! The Lord will return! We must be ready. We must share the Lord with ALL and choose repentance and salvation. Believe in the Lord and Receive His gift. Ask for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and witness to others. The trumpet will sound! The Day of the Lord is at hand! #TrumpetSound #Lord'sReturn #SoundtheAlarm Philippians 3:13-15
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. What is the prize for which we are called of God? I believe it's to hear those words, "Well done though good and faithful servant enter into the joy of the Lord! We must forget those things (sins) of the past and march onward toward the Lord's calling. In forgetting we must "repent"(ask the Lord to forgive us and turn away from doing the sin again) of those sins and forgive those who have hurt us.(ones we have given offense to or taken offense from) As we are able to mature in this and have the mind set on the things of God, the prize will come more and more clear. We can not serve God and man. We must be about our Father's business. Psalm 85:10-13
Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway. Yes the Lord will give what is good. Our nation can be revived. We the people must repent and receive mercy and truth. Then righteousness willow down from heaven our land will yield its increase. Hallelujah God is good! Job 42:1-6
Job’s Repentance Then Job answered the Lord and said: “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.” 9-11 And Restoration So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job. And the Lordrestored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold. Job repented and was restored "double for his former troubles"! We need to trust God for His provisions. Sometimes we like Job must repent. We must know that God is God and His ways are higher than our ways. God alone can make good out of bad situation but...we must due our part by repenting of our sin and recognize He is God. Isaiah 58:1-6
“Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God. ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’ “In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers. Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high. Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the Lord? “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? When we "fast" are we doing it as called by God or Man? When God calls us to a fast He always gives us the strength we need to "keep" the fast. He also leads us closer to Him for His glory not ours. Today is Day of Atonement a God called sanctification, fast and self examination for repentance of sin and rightness through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. This is an acceptable day of the Lord. Nehemiah 13:22, 29-31
And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should go and guard the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of Your mercy!Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood and the covenant of the priesthood and the Levites. Thus I cleansed them of everything pagan. I also assigned duties to the priests and the Levites, each to his service, and to bringing the wood offering and the firstfruits at appointed times. Remember me, O my God, for good! Today no matter what bad we have done we can be cleansed by the "blood of the lamb" and ask God as did Nehemiah to remember me for good! If you have not asked God for forgiveness do it NOW, then ask God to remember you for good! Be forgiven! Be blessed! Revelation 2:1-5 “To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
We must feverently cleave to our "first love"! Christ who loved us first we also ought to love Him first. If you have left Him REPENT (turn away from evil and turn back to Christ) for the kingdom of God is near. |
