Consider is a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. James 1:2 MSG
When tests and challenges come at you from all sides, consider it a joyful opportunity. Do not spend time regretting could of, should of, would of. You can't change the past and we do not know what the future holds. We only have today. Remember that He is the sovereign, powerful, most loving God. He is always with you to help. Instead of being overwhelmed by all the difficulties, grasp His hand and trust Him to work it all out. When we can view our circumstances from this big picture perspective, we can be JOYFUL even in the midst of our struggles. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20
Even a few complaints can set you on a path that is a downward spiral by darkening your perspective and mind-set. With this attitude controlling you , complaints flow more and more readily. It was this complaining and grumbling that kept the Israelites in the wilderness for 40 yrs. However, you can stop it in its tracks by crying out to Jesus in His Name! Affirm your trust in Him and regardless of how you feel, THANK HIM for EVERYTHING! SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, SELF-CONTROL; against such things there is no law.
This is our final fruit we are looking at. Many people want to leave it to God or blame God from making decisions or turning away from temptation instead of taking the responsibility that is theirs. SELF means YOU; CONTROL means YOU have the ability to change what you want to change. We do it all the time. SELF-CONTROL makes a CHOICE. We can choose to walk in all the other fruit or we can CHOOSE not to. We can CHOOSE to turn away from sin or we can choose not to. We can choose to obey God's commands or we can choose not to. We can say no to that second helping of food. We can say no to spending money on that game. We can say no to stealing or lying. Again, SELF-CONTROL makes a CHOICE! SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.
and HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED; WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER OF ETERNITY, PRINCE OF PEACE, KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS, OUR PROVIDER, OUR HEALER, OUR COMFORTER, OUR ALL IN ALL, THE GREAT I AM. Need I say more....SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men [astrologers] from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east at its rising and have come to worship Him. When Herod the king heard this, he was disturbed and troubled, and the whole of Jerusalem with him. ... Mathew 2: 2-3
Why do you think King Herod and the whole of Jerusalem were so "troubled" when they heard the news of Jesus birth? I believe that before we submit to Christ, most of us turn away from the message of Christ because we are afraid. We are afraid of what others might think. We are afraid to let go of our power to rule our life. We are afraid to "trust" someone (Christ) with our life. We want to hold onto the things that are "important" to us; not realizing that our relationship with Christ is the most IMPORTANT thing we could have. Our families, our friends, our jobs, our material wealth is not worth walking away from CHRIST JESUS because: HE IS THE ONE WHO GIVES LIFE AND GIVES IT MORE ABUNDANTLY! SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
As for God, His way is perfect; the LORD'S Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 18:30
Because He sees the beginning, the middle and the end, we can rest knowing that as we take refuge in Him during our trials, He will see us through it. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS....Galatians 5:22
FAITHFULNESS; adherence to something to which one is bound by a pledge or duty put the faithfulness of his disciples to the test. Commitment, dedication, devotion: these are all actions that come along side with FAITHFULNESS. When we are FAITHFUL in our obedience to the Lord, He is Committed, Dedicated, Devoted, FAITHFUL to keep His Word. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, GOODNESS...Galatians 5:22-23
GOODNESS: Conduct that conforms to an accepted standard of right and wrong. We are all born with an innate conscience of knowing right from wrong. However, when we do what we know is right and walk in that obedience we become that person of such unaffected GOODNESS that our friends are inspired to lead better lives. Synonyms of GOODNESS character, decency, morality, honesty, integrity, probity, rectitude, righteousness, rightness, uprightness, virtue, virtuousness Words. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, KINDNESS...
Did you know the opposite of KINDNESS IS: barbarity, bestiality brutality, brutishness, callousness, cold-bloodedness, cruelty, hard-heartedness, heartlessness, inhumanity, savageness, savagery, unfeeling, unkind. Kind of sound like our world today, doesn't it?
KINDNESS can be something as simple as a smile or a caring touch. The very definition for KINDNESS is: the capacity for feeling for another's unhappiness or misfortune. So let us make a conscious effort to show KINDNESS whenever and wherever possible. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, PATIENCE...
Boy! This is a big one, isn't it? PATIENCE has a way of stretching us to the other-most BECAUSE we want it now! We want to have it now, we want to receive it now, we want for it to happen now! So what does that tell us? It's all about me...hmmmm.
PATIENCE goes hand in hand with trust. PATIENCE is being willing to WAIT upon God to work out the details and TRUSTING Him for HIS timing. So remember, good things come our way, good things happens when we walk with PATIENCE. SIMPLY GRATEFUL!
