Now Is the Time for God's Favor  #GodsFavorNow

2 Corinthians 5:18-6:2
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christand gave us the ministry of reconciliation:  that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.  God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
6 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says,
“In the time of my favor I heard you,
    and in the day of salvation I helped you.”
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation

Looking ahead towards 2017 I am reminded NOW is the time for God's FAVOR!  We live in a time that salvation is available to all who will believe, trust and ask for forgiveness.  Jesus is waiting Your time is NOW!  Allow God's favor to touch your heart, heal your hurts and bring transformation of your life to a life bringing honor and glory to the Lord! #GodsFavorNow

Simple Words #Wisdom

Proverbs 2:1-8
The Value of Wisdom
My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.

Words might be simple or maybe complicated but God's Word simply received gives wisdom.  When thinking about a New Year's resolution, think about gaining wisdom?  There are hidden treasures in God's Word.  Reading it daily gives that wisdom to walk uprightly.  Be desperate for His presence!He will guard your path and preserve your way.

1 Peter 3:8-16
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. For  “He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
”
And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?  But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

It is good to fellowship with God's family, our family and friends but we must ALWAYS BE READY to give account for our hope in Jesus.  We may suffer for righteousness' sake but remember You are Blessed. When the angel came to Mary his words were "Fear Not".  When trials or tribulation come, suffering or discouragement, "Fear Not"!  The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers.  Mary was looking at the angle of the Lord but you may be looking at someone who is saying or doing all kinds of evit towards you.  Fear Not! Have compassion, be courteous, do not return evil for evil or reviling for reviling.  Refrain from evil and seek peace and pursue it.

The Lord Takes Care!

Psalm 27:6-10
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
9 Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.

The Lord will take care of you, even if your mother or father forsake you God will not.  He hears our cry.  He has mercy on us.  He will not turn His servant away.  Oh sing praises to our God!  Lift your voice and give Him glory!

Are You Grateful? #JoyToTheWorld

John 16:16-24
“A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.”
Then some of His disciples said among themselves, “What is this that He says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’; and, ‘because I go to the Father’?”  They said therefore, “What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is saying.”
Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, “Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’?  Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.  A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.  Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.  Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Are you grateful for all you have?  Or are you just wanting more??  When we are grateful for ALL that we have we spread joy to others.  A smile, being friendly, going out of our way to help others, humming songs, being kind!  Our gratitude for what we have makes us joyful and happy to spread that joy to others.  Weather we have plenty or lack we can choose to be grateful for all God's blessings!

Who do YOU say that I am? #TheChrist

Matthew 16:13-20
13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

Jesus is still asking today "Who do YOU say I am?"  We need to know the answer to this question for ourselves, for others when they ask us, for Him!  Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever!  He is, He was, and He will forever BE!  Is He your Lord? Savior? Friend? Is His Word spoken in your life and His promises declared over your situations, trouble, trials, and JOY?  Make Christ the Son of the living God your answer today and everyday.  He loves you and is waiting for you to ask Him into your life.

The Joy of Going to the House of the Lord

12/4/2016

Picture
Psalm 122
I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem is built
As a city that is compact together,
Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord,
To the Testimony of Israel,
To give thanks to the name of the Lord.
For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the Lord our God
I will seek your good.

Oh what a joy to go to the house of the Lord!  To give thanks to God!  To hear a word from the Lord! To pray for the peace of Jerusalem!  To fellowship with others!   Our God is good!  He reigns on high!  Praise His Name!
