1 Peter 4:7-11
Serving for God’s Glory But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. When discerning how we might best serve the Lord, it is wise to consider our talents and characteristics and to sometimes say "no" it's not me. God may call us out odf our comfort zone, but He does so to develop our unique gifts and personalties to serve His good purposes. We honor His creative nature when we permit Him to use us as we are. #It'sNotMe

Job 38:1-11
The Lord Reveals His Omnipotence to Job Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ Are we proud like Job when he asked God why? Or are we humbled when we realize God's omnipotence. All that the Lord did in creation and still does today we should be humble and in awe of an almighty God. Is there anything we can do without the Lord? No we are nothing without Him. But with Him we are able to withstand the enemy, hear from Him, and obey His commands. We must stop being proud and recognize the power of God. We must submit to His ways and follow His path of righteousness. Romans 12:1-8
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Only by God's mercy can be present ourselves as living sacrifices. We must choose to let Him perfect that which He gives to each by His grace. We each have a measure of faith. But we are many members each unique and special to Him. Each with gifts that will honor Him and be used by Him to bring harmony in the body. Choose to present yourself to God, Choose to let Him use the gift in you. Choose to be a part of the body pleasing to the Lord. |
